One&#8217;s first impression &#8212; here and elsewhere &#8212;is of imminent collapse, of an overtaxed and underdeveloped ad-hoc arrangement that&#8217;s hopelessly inadequate for its designated task.  Surely, one thinks, this is no way to run wires.
